Synopsis

Quand on est jeune, on a parfois l’impression d’avoir tout le monde à dos. C’est le cas de Steeve Simard, 16 ans, qui entame sa dernière année à la polyvalente Gaston-Miron de St-Lambert. Intellectuel misanthrope au sens critique très aiguisé, il peine à établir des liens avec ses parents et les autres élèves. Il n’a qu’un seul ami : Virgile. Pour tromper sa solitude et meubler son imaginaire, il se réfugie dans la lecture et la musique. Mais un incident avec la grosse brute de l’équipe de football des Spartiates forcera Steeve à sortir de sa tête...

When you’re young, sometimes it feels like the whole world is against you. At least, that how sixteen-year-old Steeve Simard feels. He has begun his last year of high school at suburban Gaston-Miron High. Sharp-witted and bookish, he has a hard time relating to his parents and to other students. He hides behind his books and music, keeping the world out, except for his one friend Virgil. But an incident involving the Spartan’s Linebacker, the biggest guy in school, will force him to take charge of his own destiny. Finally freed from his cocoon, he builds up enough confidence to try to seduce Veronica, the most popular and beautiful girl on campus.
